Talatau Junior Amone stood down by NRL amid police charges

Young Dragons playmaker Talatau Junior Amone has been stood down under the NRL’s No Fault Stand Down policy over an incident in November.

Amone was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm in company, destroy or damage property and stalking or intimidation with intent to cause fear of physical or mental harm over the matter in Warrawong.

“The NRL has advised the St George Illawarra Dragons that Talatau Junior Amone is subject to the Mandatory No-Fault Stand Down Condition under the NRL Rules,” an NRL statement read.

“Under the condition, the player is not permitted to participate as a player in the NRL competition or any related, representative or other competition or pre-season trial match.”

Police allege Amone was involved in an incident that saw a tradesman attacked with a hammer, while a car roof and windscreen was also damaged with the tool.

More to come.
