Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr camps almost come to blows after title fight

Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr may have showed immense class following their world title fight, but that didn’t mean there weren’t fireworks in the ring after the final bell.

With the referee holding both fighters’ hands as Haney was announced the winner by unanimous decision, his father Bill stared down Kambosos’ father.

The move did not go down well with the Australian’s camp, with the two fathers jawing at one another as a swarm of others also moved to get involved in the scuffle.

Eventually, promoter Lou DiBellla was required to jump into the middle of the ring to ensure that the two camps did not come to blows.

Kambosos goes down in title defence

Among all the chaos inside the ring, Kambosos, ever the gentleman, sought out Haney before personally handing his title belts to the 23-year-old American.

Haney was visibly frustrated at the scuffle, mouthing the words “don’t f–k up my moment” towards his father and another trainer as he hoisted the multiple title belts up onto his shoulders.

Despite the bad blood between the two camps, Haney paid tribute to the beaten Aussie, calling him a “true champion” for giving him a world title shot when others did not.

The two fighters will face off again in the near future with the contract signed between the pair being a two-fight deal, with the rematch set to remain in Australia.
