Australian golfer Minjee Lee has won the US Women’s Open, proving too strong in a four-shot victory in North Carolina on Monday morning (AEST).
The 26-year-old finished ahead of American Mina Harigae, while New Zealand’s Lydia Ko finished in the top five at Pine Needles.
It is the second major title of Lee’s career, having won the Evian Championship last year.
Lee struck consecutive birdies in the first two holes on the final day, before closing out with two more later in the round to keep her comfortable ahead of Harigae.

Lee became the first Aussie to win the tournament since Karrie Webb back in 2001, and the World No.4 could be in line for a further shoot up the rankings given her recent form.
